Telcos Face Tough Road Deploying IPTV: Report

starts of the late 1990s, North American telecommunications carriers are
salivating at the prospect of delivering television to consumers over
their IP networks. However, a new report from Forrester research notes
that, for all their excitement, "it is a long road from today's flashy
Consumer Electronics Show (CES) demos to mass adoption of telco IPTV." |

Traditional rules won't work for internet
television says Ofcom

Ofcom has said
it would be impossible for it to effectively police television content
streamed over the internet and this job must rest with the individual
viewer. The warning from the communications watchdog comes after
proposals from Brussels aim to make media regulators such as Ofcom
responsible for keeping television content on the internet clean. |

Court blocks TV anti-piracy tech rules

court on Friday threw out government rules requiring built-in,
anti-piracy technology to let broadcasters and studios prevent digital
shows from being copied. |
